Editor's Note: One of the most successful professional development
activities the the gnus has had occured with the cooperation of MOMA, the
American Museum of Natural History, Wave Hill Environmental Center, The
Southstreet Seaport Museum, the Bronx Zoo and the New York Hall of Science.
Called Learning to Look, Community School District 6 teachers spent successive
Saturdays at the museums with a focus on the inquiry skill of observation.
Teachers received a stipend or New Teachers' Credit. The museums planned and
coordinated the sessions for continuity. |
